Thank you so much for this! I cannot stand American TV anymore, so this has been a great source for finding quality crime drama. Is there going to be Part Four?!!

You're welcome. I just watched Clvie Owen last night in Children of Men - also rather gruesome, but he's a compelling enough actor to make it worthwhile. Rebus and Second Sight have already been slated for attention in Part Two of this article., and I recently started in on a British TV mini-movie, Reckless (not a crime drama), starring Robson Green, one of the main characters in Touching Evil.

After long enough of watching British TV dramas of any kind, it becomes interesting to see the same actors showing up over and over in different roles. I like that. I presume it's because Britain is a small country with fewer actors to go around than in a larger country like the U.S.

Thanks a bunch for your comment, Athena.

thanks so much for this list! i absolutely adore british crime mysteries. my favorites are touching evil (which is kind of gruesome, but the acting is incomparable), second sight (clive owen - yum!), inspector morse, and rebus (more john hannah!). :-)
